It's not that Slayer isn't compatible with other mods...it's just the minigame events, which are currently undergoing fixation.
Slayer will never be able to meet every single mod's needs.

Space Guy's was worse!
Space Guy's didn't work for minigame events either.
There is no way the race can be dedicated if the events don't work.
If they work then it is 100% possible.

I just found out that Slayer Beta v3 doesn't have fixed minigame events...v3 Official should when it does come out.

I prefer the tier 3 LMG, personally. But I do admit, it's a bit surprising to turn around to see who's behind me and get shot square in the head.
