"Darren Valerius sounds okay," you reply.
Axiometra gives a small smile. "TNMS9, Darren Valerius. I rather like that," she says warmly. "We'll figure out your statistical name later."
"What's that?" you ask.
"Things like CRCS-A, which stands for Cycle Round Combat System, Axiometra," she explains. "It's basically a short name that gives a primary function. Traditionally, the statistical name would correspond with the extended name- in this case, Ciricad Axiometra- but that rule got broken a few times with the TAMS and quickly became non-standard with the TNMS."
You nod as the group you're with stops at a large door.
"Now, this may seem like bad timing, but we're requiring your assistance," Axiometra says to you.
"With what?"
"To put it simply, we're looking for our home. We're going to equip you with an experimental system that should help us out with that," she says to you as Navaro enters in a code and the door opens. You keep a mental note of the code he entered, '3965.'
There's a female in a lightweight combat suit who appears to be working a complex machine. She stops and looks up at you, her face hidden behind a green visor and dark red helmet.
"This is Deceb Zetra," Axiometra tells you, walking over to Zetra's work station. "Zetra, this is Darren Valerius."
"So I heard," Zetra sighs, setting down the tools she was using. "I was also told that I would be equipping him with a prototype system, correct?"
"Then you were given the right information," Stojanow says, picking up a small device.
"Are you guys sure about this?" you ask uncertainly. "I mean, you said it was a prototype-"
"You'll be fine," Zetra assures you, taking the device from Stojanow and walking over to you. "It's sort of like a headset, as you probably noticed, but it'll connect you with the TMS Network so you can bring up files and such whenever you need them."
"I don't really see how that helps."
"Yours is built with a special signal system that'll allow you to pick up on signals that the rest of us can't. Of course, there's always the whole 'new and improved' thing going on with it, but that part isn't really important." She hesitates for a moment before finishing. "You don't really have to test it if you don't want to."
Well?
