Author Topic: [SEMI-50x40] TRILOS IV - SPACE? YOU TELL ME [ACT 1]  (Read 45086 times)

"What materials are used to... contain the S-Virus?" you ask, eager to finish up the meeting.

"It's a mixture of glass made from the stuff on Ytr- that's the planet we orbit- and some of the materials you'd commonly use in an organic to make a stand-in TAMS," she replies.

You frown a bit. You aren't sure about combining those two substances, but you suppose you might as well have faith in the Triloslynne designs. "What about it's corrosive and explosive properties? And how much damage can it do with a small amount?"

Deceb slowly smiles. "It's at least ten times as powerful as Kkryonitte, to start." She seems to enjoy the mixed reactions of horror and surprise on all the meeting's participants faces. "It can easily eat through most common human metals, even military grade. The only substance they found to be resistant to corrosion was Tryliolenn and Ytr, and the two substances put together were almost immune to the S-Virus' powerful corrosion."

She frowns a bit for some reason that you don't know before continuing. "I don't think that Shy'ryx will be expecting us to come at them with S-Virus at all, and they'll be powerless against it!" At this, she bursts out laughing. "It'll be soo fun to watch their station burn as we ruin all their plans, and there'll be nothing they can do to stop it!"

"...well then," you say as she settles down a bit, but you can't help but notice how sinister she looks now. "I believe our plans are final. We begin preparations today." After a quick glance around the room you add, "Meeting dismissed."

Conan the Librarian!

Conan the Librarian!
how fitting

i like to read books; especially classics like 1984, Animal Farm, LOTR, Adventures of Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn, etc

now go out there and write Metal Gear Solid-esque updates
but i never played those games
also my arm is on fire, no updates until it stops burning

Huckleberry Finn was ruined for me by a project, and I haven't read 1984. I agree with all other counts though. I think you should read Terry Pratchett.

there was supposed to be a fancy update right here but i decided to do a 50x60 image update along with a really detailed text thing
i ran out of time and i can't copy-paste on my dsi (or even access tumblr, for that matter) so expect the final act to kick off tomorrow

also my arms, leg, and face are burning with the fire of hell because i did yardwork for several hours and forgot sunscreen

another thing i'd like to mention is that now would be a great time to hit up the formspring (you can find it in the OP) and ask some questions
and lastly, should i give a description of what bot (rather, his robot 'race') looks like?

what about the count of monte cristo
and lastly, should i give a description of what bot (rather, his robot 'race') looks like?
yes

Bot is mostly a dark grey color. He has an oval-like head with a plate on the front that sticks out a bit (think along the lines of that one guy from daft punk's helmet, the one with the smooth helmet). He has a single green eye slightly above the center of said plate. It's about the size of a fist and looks like an oval with several thin bands rotating in it.

In place of ears, Bot has plates that look similar to headphones. Jutting out of these are what look like antennas (think generic futuristic pointy things you sometimes see on helmets). He also doesn't have a mouth.

Bot has silvery-blue hexagonal plates on his shoulders with green pulsing lines on them. His arms are mostly normal, only his forearm is similar to a human skeleton's arm in that it's segmented into two parts. Bot has plates on his elbows similar to those on his shoulders. His fingers have very claw-like endings.

Bot's torso is rather sleek in design, almost to the point where one might mistake him for a female from afar. His back has what looks like a small jetpack (think along the lines of the jump booster on Samus' back), and is able to boost his speed or preform a double jump with it. His chest has an oval that looks similar to his eye.

Around Bot's waist is an interesting-looking silvery-blue belt-like plate system. It seems to follow a style similar to that of his shoulderpads. There are also some interesting pointy plates on the sides of his waist. These point towards Bot's feet and don't seem to conflict with his movement. They also don't seem to serve any purpose besides looking cool.

Bot's legs resume the sleek appearance that was seen on his torso. However, his knees have sharp spikes that point upwards, and these match the spike things on his waist. Bot's feet make him look like he's wearing almost knee-length metal boots with a bit of a heel.

my usage of 'pointy' makes it sound silly but i'm tired and can't think of anything else to get my point across

Tapering down to a point.

Seems like you're deliberately making him half-beautiful

what about the count of monte cristo
Haven't had the time.

I think you should read Terry Pratchett.
Oh and some of his books are weird and I wouldn't recommend, but just as many are awesome. Sticking to the standard Discworld series is pretty good, and avoiding Wintersmith and A Hat Full of Sky etc.

You stand in the main observation room, watching the planet below as you think of all that's about to happen. Sending Bot out on his own... and actually, you're a bit worried about him.

At first you had been rather surprised to see him how he used to be, it wasn't quite what you were expecting. But the happiness shown in his single eye was enough to get you over your shock. He seemed truly happy to be back in his own body, even if it had to be modified for the mission ahead. You told him you'd let him keep the body if he managed to come back alive. You're sure that if he had a mouth, he would have grinned at the small joke.

Bot's standing next to you now, leaning on the railing. You wonder what he's thinking about: could it be the responsibility that has been placed on his silvery-blue shoulders, or is he lost in some whimsical world of his imagination? You're not even sure if he's looking forward to what he has to do.

Then there's Stojanow. He seemed amused at Bot's cheerfulness over in the military wing. You wonder what he thinks about being on the backup squad in case anything goes wrong with Bot's mission.

You sort of feel bad about not being able to be on a team with Stojanow, but you're sure he'll be just fine on his own. You think about the first time you met him, back in the Shy'ryx complex. The two of you were fighting for a simple cause: to find the other TAMS and get away from Deceb.

And then you ran into Markus Navaro in that graveyard. After you fought alongside him for the first time, you had admired how skilled he was with his katanas; always wondered what language he was muttering to himself in. You smile as you remember how annoyed he'd become if you asked what he was saying.

Now he's going with Stojanow and Lia to the Shy'ryx base of operations to assist Bot in a mission that's sure to remembered for decades to come.

You don't hear Navaro coming up behind you, and you almost jump as you spot a sky-blue form out of the corner of your eye.

"What are you thinking about?" he asks quietly, leaning on the rail next to you.

"Nothing, really. Just thinking about how far we've all come." You glance over at him. "You look worried."

Navaro shakes his head slightly. "No, just nervous."

"I don't blame you," you say, sighing. "How long do you think they'll remember this?"

He looks over at you. "What do you mean?"

You shrug. "This is an incredibly important matter. I'm just thinking about how the others will react to all of it. Do they even know what's going to happen in these coming hours?"

"Oh, you mean all the citizens." He looks back at the observation window. "I don't know, and I doubt they even know what's going to happen. But I'm sure they'll remember it for a while."

You smile a bit. "I think so, too."

Navaro straightens up a bit. "Come on, you're wanted in Head Command."

"Alright," you say as you follow him out.

You arrive in Head Command with Navaro. Stojanow, Lia, Xeron, and Themeron are waiting for you. After a few moments, Bot comes bounding in behind you.

"I'm assuming all of you make up the standby party?" you ask.

Xeron nods, smiling a bit. "We had been wondering if you wanted to join the standby club," he proposes, grinning.

Well?

Join.

Also, that planet looks like it's full of trans fat lol

Also, that planet looks like it's full of trans fat lol
wowe way to insult my planet :(

"Well, I suppose so," you reply. "I'm sure they can handle everything just fine here."

"Alright then!" Xeron laughs. "We're shipping out to the standby post in eight hours. Be ready and don't leave with any regrets. After all, we might not make it back."

"Well, at least we'd go down heroically," Themeron muses.

"Ah, I suppose so," Xeron says, folding his arms.

What now?

Try to establish contact with other colonies and try to set up a flank or something.
