What will retain heat in coffee the best? A ceramic mug, a styrofoam cup, or a paper cup?

Fill all 3 equally, check them for intervals of 5 minutes

IV: Type of mug
DV: Temperature of coffee
Control Group: None
Constants: Amount of Coffee in the cups, starting temperature, temperature in room

The control can be dumping the coffee directly on the table.

:D

I love my new biology teacher.
He lets us play with Tesla Coil and sodium and water.

styrofoam cups will hold heat the longest, i was surprised when i found that out, i thought ceramic would win for sure, because they use that stuff on spaceships to protect against the heat of friction when entering and reentering the atmosphere

Actually a Tesla Coil is basically a lightning maker

EDIT: oh shoot I also need a control for that experiment

dump the coffee on the table, like dkamm said

But I'm not quite sure what that would accomplish

Why would you dump it on the table?

your looking for which cup holds heat in the  coffee the most, having no cup is your control group

Oh sorry miss-read
I see now

lol and by table I should probably use a plate.

Here is a simple, controlled experiment.

What color are various items in the room. What color are they one hour later?

<insert any random item>

but will it blend?
