Author Topic: I have a game idea. (edit: Postponed for a few years.)  (Read 12125 times)

Needs ground missions, that are kinda like Versus Umbra (flash game)
but there are a few types of units
1. Commander (the almighty you)
2. Teammates (kinda like homies from Saints Row, you invite them from normal troops)
3. Normal troops (you can command them to do basic things)
4. Medics (heal everyone, also revive you if you get raepu)

and the occasional AI enemies

also character creation

the special things:
you can be either a human or a robot
you can pick a faction to be part of (makes AI enemies of that faction your allies, and allows to recruit from them)

and a special thing:
if you lose all your health, there's a few outcomes
1. If teammates AND a medic are present, the teammates/medic carry you back into the ship, and after a small while they carry you out with 75% health
2. If teammates are present but no medic,
2a: scenario 1 takes place, but you come out with 25% health
2b: you lose the battle, but maintain your ship and troops that are still alive
3: If no teammates or medics are present, YOU DEADED

okay i'm all out
You think it shouldbe singleplayer? I was thinking being fully an online game

I probably should've tried to make it look less chunky.
Niice! Remember, those blocks are just ideas, in the real game theres going to be like probably a few hundred variations.

One of the first things I made in lua was a game where you build with bricks to create a space ship. I'm suing the entire thread.

you forgot to buy a loving copyright
haha

Guys, do you know how big should a small logo be? pixels x pixels?

If it's 2D, learn some Lua and do it in Love2D. Wouldn't be very hard to set up an array for objects and a grid system. If you do it, make sure to add an if check to see if there's an object on the current grid square. Maybe even add a saving system, with a movement thingy.

Well, my dad (hes a good programmer) was looking for game ideas so he can make a nice game that would be fun and people would pay for it. So he'll do the coding, im just getting opinions and ideas from you.

you do like quests and fight other players to get currency and then you buy more ship parts which unlock more quests and are able to fight higher rank players which give you even more currency, then you do like quests and fight other players to get currency and then you buy more ship parts which unlock more quests and are able to fight higher rank players which give you even more currency, then you do like quests and fight other players to get currency and then you buy more ship parts which unlock more quests and are able to fight higher rank players which give you even more currency, then you do like quests and fight other players to get currency and then you buy more ship parts which unlock more quests and are able to fight higher rank players which give you even more currency, then you,

looks crappy
it is, because the devs were like "forget this lets make our own engine!" so the engine is piss.

but its an amazing concept

Except it's automatically copyrighted when you create something unique enough, registering it just extends the copyright term.
