"bricks cast shadows"

if you built that enclosed room or box small, it would seem dark.
but if large enough an area, there would be illuminated space somewhere inside.

(i assume)

Have you gotten rid of the vertex lighting for bricks?

What?

I'm neutral to this now.

with this update the lighting system will be greatly improved according to previous questions answered by komp

Many of us feel emotional ties to the Bedroom map.  It's really something I would not see go, but unfortunately, these objects have caused several problems throught BL's history.  It's not like keeping them will improve anything.  Several serious problems have occurred recently with interiors.  By keeping terrain and interiors, we're complicating updates...

The only thing that troubles me is, if a player doesn't have shadows enabled and say I make a build based in the darkness created by blocking a lot of light (i.e. a cave or something) will the build still be dark for the non-shadow players?

What?

You are really stupid if you don't understand this.

Yeah I guess

Trust me.
Blockland will turn into a better place.

We'll see...
I feel like "We'll see..." Is a tad too harsh. I agree that there's pros to this, I just think the cons outweigh them.

Removing interiors is not JUST for lighting. Get it through your head.

Also, on the subject of "graphics are BAD", graphics are something that can actually matter in a building/construction game. New lighting allows people to do more with their builds and overall make them look nicer. I really don't see what the problem is with this update.

At first I was like HOLY forget

then I was like NO forget YOU

then I was like meh

I kinda support this.
The only reason I do is because it just looked like it came out from under battlefield 3.

More people seem to want this update then the people that don't want it.

There does indeed appear to be a lot of whining children who...
