wouldn't water bricks cast shadows too, though

They're a brick with no solid surfaces, aside from the water texture, which will probably cast a shadow because that's what water does anyways.

i'm not necessarily saying that it's as easy as i make it out to be, but it's still something you can totally do. like, it's feasibly within your reach to get better at building
