I guess it is time to upgrade my computer and quite possibly start rebuilding Viano City but in blocks.

It's real time but still no confirmation on shadows on players.

Well, forget me silly that's awesome.

If casting on player's is possible I can tell you what, I expect a lot of talented people to take advantage of this on the Machinima side of things. Or at least, I know I will.

I can see it now.
The Shadow that Killed

(or vashta nerada)

Hey Kompressor, if i work on something really great, do you think i could get it in a official save? :)

Or maybe we will hold a contest..

This will hopefully get rid of most family rp'ers and get some more, creative and proffesional people to buy blockland.

Also we won't have stuffty fort wars where the host just loads some terrain map like slopes and goes afk.

However, it'll also be harder for dogfighting/other larger DMs that used islands/Slopes/etc. as well to function. And count most water vehicles out if we're reduced to slate-style maps (Not that many of them worked well anyway, but I digress.)

Build giant radio towers for field reference in dogfights
Use water bricks for water vehicles.

Water-based slate maps will still work.

Actually now I think of it, this will raffine the servers hugely.
It'll take actual effort to get a build for a server done rather then just do a 5 second map load.

Just summing some of it up with a quick picture :)

just wanted to add to the fan art

btw, im convinced that shaders are now cool.

guess who the mapper is ;3

Another thing.

The start game menu has multiple maps, if it will have only Slate, what will be the result? We will be able to have a in-game customiser for the Slate map or something? And what will happen with the load menu, considering it has the ability to load from other maps.

What else I'm saying is that a integrated map editor for plate that can change lightning and skybox would be interesting and useful, with save-able settings like in the brick menu, and when you press start game you have no map, but instead you can change the map real-time, in-game.

That would be nicer and easier instead of making everyone use mission editor and/or having most of the maps the same if the menu is removed..

There wont be only the single map SLATE.

I guess blockland will keep only the FLAT maps.
