| v21, you're either with or against it. |

While we will lose quite a bit in the way of terrain and interiors, it's just another step for BL. This is going to force our creativity. Plus, better updates mean that a lot more can be added more quickly! |
| FadedGlory:
You have to think! Most people who play this game can't build. Without interiors or terrains it would make people even more unmotivated! |
| KoopaScooper:
Last time I checked, nobody is against them to the point that all maps (that aren't slate) are stupid. Some are very nice looking. I feel bad to lose those few, but terrain and interiors appear to be using software shadow rendering. There are ideas already to replace these things should the update come out. |

Terrain and interiors are a lot more expensive to render. If you were to build one of Ghost's city maps out of bricks then compare it to the real thing, I guarantee you that the brick version will run faster. |

--- Quote from: kompressor on February 05, 2012, 05:27:24 PM ---In order to make all this possible, though, we need to kill two old, slow features in Blockland: interiors and terrains. These two features complicate Blockland’s code tremendously. That means we can’t add game features very quickly. They still have bugs in them (after years of work). They are slow, too - bricks are about 90% of their speed and can do a LOT more (explosions, events, in-game editing). --- End quote --- I do believe this says bricks are faster. |
