Author Topic: The future of Blockland  (Read 28374 times)

I think you'll like the thread I just made. Anyways, I suppose we are just trying to create a memoir of some sorts.

As Samuel Adams once said; "It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."

[sarcasm]Because fighting monarchy is most certainly relatable...[/sarcasm]

So you're going to go to Oregon and physically keep Badspot and Kompressor from releaseing the update? Because otherwise nothing is going to stop them.

So you're going to go to Oregon and physically keep Badspot and Kompressor from releaseing the update? Because otherwise nothing is going to stop them.

No, and nothing will stop them, but their is a persistent self-proclaimed call for justice inside our heads, and knowing we voiced what need to be voiced helps to calm down that desire.

6 months down the line when we have technic, better physics, less lag, more non standard brick types (like the water), other theoretical updates...

it will be thx to this update. and you will be happily playing it not knowing it was killing the handicapped interiors and terrains to thank for it.

but if you believe its JUST shadows we are gaining, then of course this would be a bad update.

I really don't see what the whole big fuss is about, Interiors and Terrains have always been stuffty, but they were good for some maps, I will miss Bedroom but seriously.  Shaders and Shadows WILL be better, gets rid of a lot of lag, makes builds better (because made of bricks) and it gives the opportunity to be MORE creative.

forget you if you do not like it, READ ALL of the other posts saying that there will be more features.

Lag is one of the worst parts, you want lag?  Go ahead, but being more creative means BETTER builds.  So what if your lame loving RPGs go down the drain, terrains were stuffty, and interiors were ugly.  Sure if the vehicles can't go around bricks much but they might make the physics better, stop crying and get over it.

It's time to move on...

I've seen a few RPGs made out of bricks.

You know who wedge is right, this is nothing new.

Minecraft should have only been survival from the begining.

Because everyone prefers your tastes. Not like blockland is a creative sandbox game or anything...
Rofl. Minecraft was actually creative mode only before it was survival.

I've seen a few RPGs made out of bricks.
Jorgur's especially could be easily remade out of bricks.

I will only repeat myself one more time.

Removing the interiors and terrains is not only for shaders and shadows. It's to make ALL future updates easier to develop.

Now, for people who simply missed this (100 times) and like to read normal sized posts:

Removing the interiors and terrains is not only for shaders and shadows. It's to make all future updates easier to develop.

I wish they would have just been removing them in the next update, so it would be more clear that they are doing this for easier updates.

Ugh more spam threads. Just deal with it.

Most people don't realize Badspot and kompressor actually don't give a forget about the community, except its ability to promote their game. This update is obviously directed at new potential customers, making it look better while screwing over the mapping community.

This will not be the last time. As long as we blindly abide to their decisions, Blockland will only keep changing for the worse. Despite what some of you believe, our opinion matters. The community can affect how the game evolves, as long as we keep voicing our opinion.

After all, there are two people developing this game, and thousands of people playing it.

People who are against this are probably pretty lazy and think loading the slopes and spawning vehicles make a good server.

Thinking of flat maps, isn't there a slate map that looks like one of the older backgrounds for Lego Digital Designer? It had a sort of gray gradient to it, used to be a map for RTB 1.x, i think it was ported one day

Does it still exist?

That map was the Digital Designer by astro, MLD.

Nevermind, found it

It's a part of Demian's Slate edits

Im gonna miss the Bedroom. Big classic. I guess I could finish up and build my Boss Battles in the brick built bedroom, then save it, that way in v22 I will still have a classic  :cookieMonster:
