I just don't give a flying fadoodle of how it looks like.

This.
I'm probably the only one who plays DF with the original ASCII tileset.
Although when it gets to the point that colored symbols are burned into my eyelids, I'll switch to graphical for a while.

I don't like Call of Duty, Battlefield or any other shooters similar to them.
It just seems like they're the exact same game with a few new maps and guns and a slight improvement in graphics, and the only reason they're still around is because of multiplayer. Take that out, and you've killed the cash cow.

While I appreciate the answer, my question was more directed to the people who play Battlefield or some other recent FPS and say Call of Duty is bad. But really the only two FPSes that could be relatively similar are BF3 and CoD but even then they are different games spare the modern setting and shooting.

What I stated in my previous posts were every new version of one of these series seems like a clone of its predecessor with re-skinned weapons, a few new maps, and *maybe* a new mechanic every 2-3 reproductions.

Not that the two games themselves are copies of each other.
