Author Topic: What is the best screen recording program?  (Read 997 times)

Well, the title says all;

But what would be the best screen recording program?

Faps

EDIT: forget, ninja'd.
Anyway, fraps is good for recording games.
If you want to record your screen, get Camtasia Studio.

Bandicam.

Records games and screen, and it uses way less CPU and HDD r/w than Fraps*.
*=The demo version of Bandicam does not feature that great CPU/HDD optimization, though.

Trust me, self-experience...

I appear to see that Fraps uses way more power than intended, and even then it does not have the great quality I have seen on Youtube videos.

If you want to record your screen, get Camtasia Studio.
Fraps can do that too. It's a pretty old feature now. About three years old.

I highly recommend fraps. It, with the right settings, records your screen 1 to 1. Sad part is that the output files are very big so I also recommend a movie editing program like sony vegas where you can render the clips to a uploadable size.

You might as well need a proper PC since it might cause some very high FPS drops while trying to record a proper games on its best settings with fraps' best settings.

Why does he need to buy a >$100 program when he could get a file compressor around somewhere?

Why does he need to buy a >$100 program when he could get a file compressor around somewhere?
random stuffty free "file compressors" ruin the audio and video quality.
I mean, if you don't give a stuff about quality at all you can also just go download a random stuffty low-quality recorder.

And if you're actually into editing and everything, get vegas. Everything your movie editing desires need in one handy program.

I thought fraps was 20-30 dollars.

OH stuff

Fraps is 37 dollars...

Do what JPSC said. Or linked.

I meant about the compression. Sony Vegas Pro costs $600. And that's the "Starting from" price.

Either way, Bandicam comes with built-in compression. And I thought so did Fraps...
