Author Topic: Skyrim recreation in Blockland  (Read 4168 times)

10 years later the project was finished.

Making separate things from the game would be much more feasible, until terrain was to be constructed. You can't make a terrain map file because it's too small, so the best way would be to make the ENTIRE terrain for the game and then build on it.

That's a lot of bricks.
To recreate EVERY ASPECT of Skyrim out of bricks would be impossible. The amount of bricks would be astronomical. A good way to do it would to recreate cities and other things of the sort as their own build, as they would have a lot of bricks on their own.

It doesn't have to be exactly recreated, just the same concepts, like 5 or 6 cities, dungeons spread out, and skills lke smithing.

I guess a good start would be to recreate Whiterun- even that'll be lots of work.

There seriously doesn't need to be that much terrain, it's not an exact recreation. And would anyone want to help? Because we can start making a team.

here is a transparent version of your avatar

And thanks haha

I don't know why, but your avatar just made that hilarious.

Ironically, his avatar isn't transparent.  :cookieMonster:

it is, for some reason the transparentness didn't copy over into paint.net

I would love to help a skyrim-inspired server. I was about to go try a solitude building type build anyways. Obviously we can't recreate but the names, styles, locations, and such can be transferred.

Yes! That's what i mean. I'll add you to the list

Yeah, I built a solitude-inspired building, not yet complete and will probably be expanded/ recolored but I'll show anyways. I'm better at eventing :p Anyways, you should add me on rtb, I would add you but I can't seem to log in at the moment...

Alright, i'll add you. And it looks good, how are you at terrain?
Also, i'm gonna be gone for a week so i will start hosting the server probably saturday.

I tried.

But then I took an arrow to the knee.
It's arrow in the knee cigaretteote

If you wan't I can help you with Riften, I say myself I'm pretty good at that stuff.

-snip-

I have never played Skyrim but something looks odd about that building. I feel like it should have larger support structures to hold up that overhang, the current ones look flimsy. Also the ramp bricks switching into cylinder bricks looks strange in my opinion.

I added you both :), Make sure to add me next time your on, which looks like two weeks for you bravo xp

Anyways I'm not particularly good at terrain but I've never really tried, I'd like aquatic terrain though... If you could help with Riften that would be awesome!

I only extended the support on the outer beams, perhaps I should use both, I don't see a problem with cylinder/ramp transition but I do think it is too boxy, we need people like you to help the building :)

Also I don't know if we could get our own game type but I can defiantly event some guilds/npcs.... Probably quests but that might get messy... Also an economy and such but I think a game mode would be better for that...
