I heard the gunshots. Quickly pulling out my gun, I ran to the speech location, seeing Gherone's dead body, not knowing what to do, I called in a ambulance quickly and tried to run through civilians and ran into Mcranie's Apartments.

This is it. Our big break.
Until now, the Mafia hasn't been paying me. Unless you include the $10 they gave me to purchase my Capital Union janitor outfit from some creep in Goodyear. The guy popped in on me while I was changing. Anyways, Gianni woke me up this morning to tell me what was going on.
Today we're going to try to get into the Capital Union Building in Goodyear, the tallest building, and figure out what Fredrick Union is going to do with the Mafia. We've heard that he's trying to exterminate them, and we need to hear his plans first-hand to believe it. If we find that Fredrick is going to try to take us out, we get $600. If we find out that he's not, or he doesn't say anything, we get $300. If we find out that Fredrick is going to take us out and we find a copy of his plans, we get $1,400.
Gianni showed up at my door. He was wearing a large hat. Before I could even ask, he said "This Union guy has seen me before. I'll have to wear this hat so he doesn't recognize me. Yeah, because a hat makes you less noticeable. On his back, Capital Union Maintenance was written. We drove there quickly in my 1957 Ford Fairlane 500, brought here from Sicily. Soon enough, we arrived. Apparently, one of the people that worked here was jumped by one of our guys and we got his keys.
So, then we walked right into the maintenance room in the back of the building. Although we wanted to look casual, we couldn't help but to slump into an almost crouching position. Everytime someone would pass, we would quickly straighten up, and then slowly slump back down until finally, we saw him. Fredrick Union was speaking to his workers about something, but through glass, we couldn't figure out what. Then I had an idea. We snuck inside of the auditorium and started washing the glass where he was giving a speech. The windows were sparkling after, by the way.
From what we'd heard, Fredrick Union had heard of where the Godfather was staying. He knows people, he has connections. He also knows how to raid it, and by doing so, the Mafia would fall apart. I noticed he was holding a vanilla folder. He seemed to be the only person in the room with one. They knew he was a smart man, and that if they tried to take it, they'd be killed in a minute. Gianni thought more people would have them.
They started washing the windows closer to Fredrick. They noticed, there was one other folder. It was sitting on a table behind the curtains. "Look," I said. "behind the curtains. Mr. Union has another vanilla folder. Gianni said, "Yeah, and look around it."
There were three men standing in front of the folder with their backs turned.
But, we would have to go across the stage to get there,  and by the time we can do that, it'll be gone, and so will the Godfather. We knew we couldn't go by the wall that was so close to the curtains. Gianni thought, there must be another of those folders in his office. So, slowly, we made our way up to his office. Anyone that would've been guarding it was at the meeting. We looked around a bit, but we didn't find anything. The only thing we could find were our wanted posters from when Gianni torched a Jitters, of course nobody's searching for us anymore. Then I remembered, I had seen a balcony over the other side of the auditorium. We knew we were running out of time now, but we made it. Fredrick Union and his men were walking to the other side of the auditorium, leaving the folder off-guard. We slid off the balcony down a pipe, and swooped it up. I could imagine it now. A house in Bright Annex, Gianni my neighbor, this was it.

"You, there! Stop!" said a familiar voice.

A spray of scarlet stained the glass as people began to scream in horror. Just as well, too, as I didn't want to see the mangled remains of Gherone's head.

I looked over the side of building to check for any stragglers on the street, then down the left end of the busy street. A bright series of lights caught my eye as they approached my location.

Police lights.

The sirens increased in loudness as they pulled up in a disorganized bunch outside the curb in front of the Ceranine building. Five officers got out of a large van and entered the building, while the rest of the officers cordoned off the area.

Then I heard a slam.

I turned behind me and pulled my snubnose, to find a uniformed officer staring at me, radio in hand. "Hey! You! Get over here!" The officer commanded, pointing to the ground next to him. I shook my head, and he began to excitedly talk into his radio. All I heard was the words, "..deadly force."

I fumbled with my gun as I clicked off my safety, shot the officer in the foot, and ran down the stairs to the lobby of the building, leaving my Springfield behind. As I exited the building, I pulled out my PDA and made a call.

The line crackled as I heard a voice materialize on the other side. "Is he dead?"

"Yep. I want the 'cake' delivered to my door by noon tomorrow, or you're next." I hung up the phone, and dropped it in my pocket before being approached by two police officers. They were both tall, and well built. "Sir, may we ask you a few questions?"

I nodded, tightly gripping my snubnose within my pocket. One of them pulled out handcuffs and inquired of me, "Do you think these would fit on your wrists?" as he began to come towards me. I kicked him in the groin, and punched the other in the face before running down an alley to the left of McRanie that would take me to Salvador Avenue.

"Police are still locating the suspect, who had a vantage point from the McRanie Apartments across the street from which he was able to take a clear shot of Mr. Gherone, who is now deceased. We will keep you updated with information as more of it comes in.."

I sat on my couch, counting my money which arrived less than an hour earlier in a silver briefcase. Fifty thousand dollars sat in the briefcase, and I closed it, feeling very content.

Until I heard another knock on the door.

I looked through the peephole, to find nobody standing there. I slowly opened the door, and looked around. I saw nobody but a dossier sitting on my doormat.

"Wonderful." I muttered, as I scooped up the envelope and walking back inside, locking the door in the process.

The voice was that of Fredrick Union, on the other side of the stage.
We dashed. In fact, we ran so much, we had to stop for a second. We ducked into a room, hoping they would think we ran down the hallway and turned. We heard Mr. Union say "What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in the area. Don't stop until you find those goons."
I chuckled and thought of "The Fugitive".
Gianni and me looked around the room for anything we could use as a weapon. Our guns would attract the rest, if nothing else. Me and Gianni looked up at the same time, and we both noticed an airduct. I also found a Moon Pie sitting on one of the desks in the room.  Then I had a plan.
Fredrick wasn't the type of person that called the police. He relied on his men to take care of people. If the police were much help, Highler Ridge wouldn't be the crime capital of the world. I wasn't about to blame him, either. Anyways, then we put a chair under the duct, grabbed a broom, climbed into it, and pushed the chair back with the broom. Then, we threw the broom somewhere in the room, and put the cover back on the airduct. We climbed along until we could see the elevator. As we saw it, we waited a moment, but the airduct wasn't meant to hold 300lb. It broke. Some of Fredrick's men were getting closer, now. We jumped into the elevator and pressed 60. Fredrick was told, and he and his men started running up the stairs, according to plan.
We reached the 60th floor, and waited for 18 minutes, when we started hearing hustling footsteps. Then we climbed into the elevator and shot back down to the first floor. They were baffled. Then we opened the panel inside the elevator and ripped something out, and we ran. We hopped into my Ford and drove down to where our Godfather was hiding, and gave him the plans. He handed us both $1,500, an extra $100 for taking less then a day.
When we went back, my motel room had been seized by the owners. I had forgotten to pay the last bill. I decided now, I should get an apartment. I went to Goodyear, where I heard of a nice apartment building called McRanie Apartments. It was across the street from where Gherone got popped a few days ago. It was still under a police search, though. So at the moment, that might not be a good idea. Then, I found "Ambassador Apartments", a grand old apartment building built in 1923. It was designed by Emmett Roth, and rates there were $221 a month.
Finally, I had a real place.

After being shot, I heard another officer yelling for paramedics. Luckily they came. Doctor's said I could still walk and it wasn't a major injury, infact the wound should heal completely in a day or two. Doctor' said I'd have to stay from running and danger for a while, though. I limped out of the hospital and drove to the police station. Glad I could still drive. I arrived at the police station and sat down at the computer. God, I heard this place was as bad as Liberty City. Anyways, I remembered the criminals face before getting shot. I quickly searched it up on the police computer. After a few minutes of searching, I finally found him.

Arin Huntley.. Lives in a apartment building at South Bint. I didn't really bother checking for his records, considering shooting a cop will be one of them. I requested a warrant and started to get ready, reloading my gun, and preparing a shotgun in the back of my cruiser. I waited. While I was waiting, I got curious and opened the back of my trunk and found a bullet-proof vest in there. I put the bullet proof vest under my uniform and continued to wait. I was just glad I was taught about how to fake death, it may help you live one day.

I really don't want this to die out again.
I know that this has potential,
Let it sing.
Or some stuff like that.

C'mon. Someone.
