What happened to good knife tdms?

Who started the grapple trend anyway? It may have been me. I never liked grapples but would put them on since everyone seemed to want them. I think waldo hosts a classic knife tdm sometimes, though.

I might host a knife TDM.
Combat knife or katana (provided both are balanced to eachother)
Not-floating platforms
no grapples
Bounty hunter
But I gotta finish mass effect 2, do other stuffe, etc etc...

I think there just isn't enough variety.
If I have the time and the interest, I would be interested in hosting classic DMs (NOT TDMS) that use simple weapons and simple arenas. For example, my old Magnum & Knife DM was quite popular for the few days that I hosted it. I even got three people who copied my old name.
