Looking for Help w/ Simple Sprite Run Cycle

Anyway

So I'm making a very small, cheap and useless project that after this topic, none of you will ever hear about again. These are the two 'main characters'. I need help with the running cycle. I'm aiming to have a distinct one for both m/f.

Looking for resources/templates/criticism/etc. for them. If you'd like to personally revise them/add to them, feel free. It's for school, but I'd give you credit.

Looking to have the animation be greater than 3 frames.

I don't think this topic will go that far.

Should be noted that when operating they are going to be significantly larger, probably about by 5-10 times then the actual size.

Allow me to lend you a character movement reference;



and just a simple walk cycle, since your character appears to be upright all the time this would probably work better;
