I wrote what I feel was a pretty good argument on a different forum about the ending and I'm just going to copy and paste it here.

I really get annoyed by people who complain about the ending.
Who gives a stuff about an ending? 99% of the game is the not ending bits and you cannot honestly tell me that a poorly written ending completely ruined the game's experience.

Until recently I had never even beaten a Mass Effect game. I would just play them and complete most of the content except for the end.
I'm not sure what people possibly expected out of ending of a game. It's the ending, it doesn't matter what it is because it isn't the gaming part of the game.

And in my opinion the entire ME3 game is the ending. The whole game is the ending of the story. So every game these days need to be judged based on a few minutes of the experience that was bad, when the rest of the game was good?
Seems like bullstuff to me.

It's because people want closure. It's the end of a trilogy, and people don't want an ending that sucks. I get what you're coming at, and I partially agree. ME3 is a great game, but the endin was less than desirable.
