I usually just set the files to read-only but I hear Badspot/the launcher dislikes when people do that. |

The launcher will think 'aww theyr read-only' and Badspot will mostly ignore it, I think. If you make them read-only and start the game, nothing happens except you have new textures. The launcher doesnt even try to overwrite them. |
