You crop the part you want

You resize it to be 75x75 or smaller

i have images that are 9MB and are 7035x5048
how do you have a higher res than that

There are some things that aren't meant to be avatars...

I tried it, lightened it up so you could see what's going on, and resized it.  The text looks bad and you can still hardly tell what's happening.
