Author Topic: Windows 8 - Does not work w/ Blockland  (Read 2004 times)

So recently, I installed Windows 8. It is fast, and loads in seconds. It also uses the Metro look that you see on Windows Phones, but is generally the same concept. I have all my drivers, etc. I am using a Radeon card. I started Blockland after installing it again. Blockland came up with an error that it cannot find a suitable display device. Check the pictures below. I was hoping to get to the bottom of this before Windows 8 becomes a public thing.

Well thats because Windows 7 was awsome so the next version of windows sucks. thats how this works.

And the logical answer is that blockland is not made for windows 8 yet.

I have an answer.

Downgrade back to Windows 7 where everything is nice and dandy :3

Try running in compatibility mode, if they didn't remove it. (if they did there's no way im upgrading)

also i saw that research folder

Sorry. I don't keep that on my Desktop.

But did compatibility mode work or no result at all?

It gave me the same result. It flashes the screen, then shows the error.

Maybe because it's not the full release of Windows 8 and they didn't add compability to everything, so you just have to wait until the full OS releases or until a update comes out.

I think the issue is there are no official video drivers for Windows 8 yet.

also why did you upgrade to 8 i mean its ugly imo they made it look like windows phone :(

Windows 8 was released? Why was I not informed about this?

beta or something for developers

try updating your drivers.  That's how I fixed it.
