Torque has been updated a lot now, the recent update was in Nov 2011. It supports super high res textures, lighting, physiscs, and probably a better file type for meshes, one that most modern 3d programs use. Since Blockland wont need super high res textures or ADVANCED lighting, the engine would be perfect because Blockland wouldn't be taking up as much it can support. They also upgraded the Networking....loading times is a problem that effects Blockland. Although I think the engine for now is fine, maybe in 4 to 5 years from now we should upgrade. |
