I somewhat do and somewhat don't agree with this.
Kompressor said the update will be released when it is done.

kind of stupid, but fun :)

Countdowns take out the immersion.
In GTA: Vice City the countdown for night/day basically shows that every second is a minute and every minute is an hour.
