Author Topic: Lol, can you hack blockland?  (Read 22202 times)

YOU CAN HACK BLOCKLAND, although I think it would be very hard.

Port told me and he has lots of experience with the Torque Game Engine.

Hacks are things you do that aren't really possible with just a keyboard, mouse and unedited game.
Exactly, but the only kind of hack I know you can do in blockland, which really isn't a hack at all; is "aimbot".

Hacking Blockland is possible.

There are working aimbots. I have one. No, I do not use it.
Like I said, "aimbot" isn't really like a hack, but in other games. Its possibly yes a hack.
In blockland its just a add-on.

I say anything can be hacked if you have the brain for the job.

Well, I think it depends on what it is first.

It really depends on what you consider hacking. Aimbots are still possible, are those considered hacks? You can exploit some excessively common mods I won't mention to do things like what you said above, which is probably what they were doing. Blockland in it's vanilla form is pretty airtight-- nothing can be done to the server as far as I have heard. Client mods still can be used as 'exploits' though. I have a working radar + aimbot, took some changing in the code but it works and that's all that matters.

Aside from that, as far as actual hacking goes, Blockland is completely hackable. DLL injection can be done to any program, and I know people that have been working on it for a bit now and their only real trouble is they can't find an efficient way to locate the console object's memory address so they can inject C++ console functions. It'll be amazing once they finish, though. C++ add-ons will run incredibly fast and can do things normal add-ons can't.

He probably exploited the zone events.

Most realistic suggestion so far. Zone events are epic.

Well, all this adds is positive experience for the community.

I'm sure the only kind of hacking we're concerned about is someone joining our servers and somehow gaining powers they shouldn't have. Or joining a server and the host somehow gaining powers over your client. Such as things like deleting files, becoming invincible on servers (the player on their own, not the host loving with you), and things like that. Not something you're doing to your own server or your own client.

If its anything probably this.

I still don't understand how he made the face pop up, and the text when there were no saves, events, or bricks.
you can use client-targeted events to make text appear on the screen, you can also put bitmaps in the message

I do this on renderman hunt servers using zonebricks to make Prepper scream in peoples' faces. It's easy once you know how.
As for nasty powers, I know someone whose name shall not be spoke used super admin and eval to tweak one of the host's files, and mentioned that if he wanted to be a real richard he could have deleted everything from the host's BL.
