You unlock other classes by getting to a certain level on your owned classes. It should tell you the requirements under the locked ones.

Okay. Also, how exactly do I earn fame? I played for 10 minutes and died with a rather low level and got around 22 fame, and in my next play I played for around 20 minutes and died at level 13 with 14 fame.

I haven't played in awhile, but basically you kill gods and gain I think 1 fame per god kill, or it might just be lots of exp.
However. There are bonuses you can get to DRAMATICALLY increase the amount of fame you gain when you die. here's a link:

You'll have to keep the same character alive for around week or so to gain around 500+ fame, at least that was my experience.

So I have to keep playing for around a week without pauses? There seems to be no way to terminate a session other than dying.
