Wario Land II is the cartooniest game ever.

Seriously.  I don't think any other video game has even approached the level of cartooniness embodied by Wario.  He's completely invincible.  It doesn't matter whether he's set on fire, frozen, flattened, shrunken, stung, or even turned into a zombie.  He just goes through an amusing, gameplay-relevant reaction, then either just walks it off or falls into a pool of water and he's fine again.  He cannot die and he cannot be killed.  With the exception of the game's two sequels, both of which allow Wario to die somehow, I don't know of any other game like this.

Wario Land 2 was the first game I got with my Gameboy Color. I played the stuff out of it and found all the secrets.

I had one of them. I don't remember which. But oh how I loved it.

I had the 4th one on the GBA, played the stuff out of it as a kid, good game
