Awdax:

Just recently got a PS3. I play on an HDTV with 720p, does smoothing smooth HD games too, and will it look better?

I have already calibrated my HDTV on my Xbox 360 using Windows Media Center and calibrating videos. Now that I have a PS3 and the videos/games are being displayed with a different console, should I need to re-calibrate my HDTV?

This option is available on some HDTVs (not mine though), and adds a blue filter over the screen making it easier to adjust the color and tint settings when calibrating your HDTV.

I thought it looked better, but you would have to see it for yourself.

Awdax:

I was hoping it was more of an Anti-Aliasing thing, it removed the jagged edges, but everything was a bit "muddy." It was more of a real-time smudge effect. I'll just keep it off, looks better when everything is clear, it's worth the slightly jagged edges.

Marcem:

Smoothing is for upscaling from sd format only.

Also, my HDTV is 22" but supports up to 1080p. Should I enabled everything up to 1080p, or just keep it at up to 720p?
