Oh I dunno, putting something in bold like a statement sure does seem like you're stating it as fact. You're only using the whole "oh it may be a joke" so you don't look like a fool when everyone jumps on you about it.

BBcode bold was designed to state things as fact? I think you'll find its used to make things bold. You know, to make text stand out, like.. oh I dunno, on the 46th page of a content saturated topic when someone has something of interest to post.
