Do any of you follow fire and building codes?

I have no idea why, but I always follow the fire and building codes. External doors open out and all that sort of stuff.
Idk, seems weird to me to not do it.

* Alternative to stairs for handicapped persons.
* Most rooms (all bedrooms) have at least two ways out (one door, one window).

My buildings are problem some of the least health-and-safety oriented ever.
They would all likely have to be condemned in real life...
