So a 5 minute timelapse video of the making of a game in 48 hours is sufficient evidence that he's a bad programmer?  That proves that his work on Minecraft was just bad?  Also, what exactly is bad programming?  The games he has made run fine, so what if he doesn't use perfect practice (if that's what you mean)?
Khepri:
All my rage
Marcem:
What?  What are you even saying?
MegaScientifical:
Well, over time he added people to look over his code and clean it up.

Jimmg just likes to rage at notch for being a bad programmer despite there not really being any evidence to suggest he is any worse than anyone else aside from subjective choices like that he uses Java or some not-entirely-perfect methods of doing things. Seems to me that the reason notch gets called a bad programmer is the same reason any other celebrity has their issues pointed out - simply because they're celebrities. Not to mention that people can hardly say he's a bad programmer having only seen decompiled/reverse engineered code.

The only thing to actually suggest that Notch's programming is subpar is Optifine but I found that I got a gain so negligible under Windows it wasn't worth the effort to install it (all 30 seconds of effort), and my Linux laptop worked fine without (just slowly) and after installing Optifine just wouldn't run it at all using the OpenJVM.

When someone goes "NOTCH IS A BAD PROGRAMMER" then actually provides evidence maybe I'll take them seriously, but that certainly hasn't happened yet.
