But it just had to be a graphics update, so no one believes that we will get anything else after the update. So people are stuck on the fact that the developers are choosing graphics over gameplay, that there there will not be any gameplay updates afterwards.

You completely missed the point. This isn't just for graphics, whether you want to believe it or not. I doubt they would just remove terrains and interiors, add shadows and shaders, and leave it it at. There will be more improvements to come that could add to gameplay, much more now that terrains and interiors are gone.

Flying is fine for slate. Used to host airport RP's where I'd ferry people to and from cities (they would freebuild in either).

Driving around endless slate is no more mind melting then driving around endless terrain. Cars are only good for city RPGs to me. Sometimes do races with them on slate.

Not for me if you just keep driving on slate like to the Chrystle castle thing. drive off the road and you will fall through the map. It's a weried glitch. And to me I'd rather perfer terrain for the skies (I kept glitching through the bricks at Beachbums).

And don't forget about the beginners. I don't think that they are good builders and if they wanted to make their own build. So i just used the terrain back in slops for bases and stuff back when i was a beginner..

I suppose so but I will still miss them but there could be more and betters things after V21. Like bringing back Terrains and Interriors with Shadows and Shaders with the ishues all worked out. It could happen. Do you think?
Cajetan:
I can't wait for the V21 update. When all interiors and terrains get removed, then topic's like this will finally end.

Seriously, why are some people still living in the past?
Yes, Blockland with Interior and Terrain was great, but only because of the classic times.
I see a lot of benefits of the V21 Update:

* People will finally build again with bricks. That's actually what blockland is supposed to be.
* Your builds will get an great atmosphere, which is awesome.
* Alot of other things will be possible. I think Lua was going to be implented too... good Idea for those who wanna learn a easier scripting language
But, back on-topic:
I don't like the idea of splitting the community in two halfs.  It's a horrible idea. If you seriously wanna keep v20, then do it, but you have to risk to play alone in singleplayer. (foreverAlone.jpg goes here)

Conclusion:
Forgot the past. The future is coming near. Interior and Terrain will get KILLED and Shadows and Shaders will be BORN.
I don't see also a point why still having Interior and Terrain in Blockland.
End of story.

--- Quote from: Scout31 on April 10, 2012, 10:31:55 AM ---And about lua: it in itself does nothing, like any other scripting language. It's the interpreter and whatever it's running for that gives it power. Lua in itself adds no special features to the game. Implementing it in torque would just mean add-ons could be scripted in either lua or torquescript.

Scripting doesn't get much easier than torque.
