Can Macs recognize Floopy Disks (Diskettes)?

I doubt that will happen, considering that even four-layer Blu-Ray discs can only hold 128GB, and they're a lot more advanced than floppy disks

And blu-rays are easier to break than a regular CD.

And ssd's are awesome, they're just handicapped over-priced.

But you see, magnetic tape drives, such as floppy disks, last for 10s of years, whereas, most optical disks (blu-ray, dvd, cds) only last on average for around 8 years.

That number is total bullstuff. My CD's last like 8 months tops. And I take really good care of 'em.

Yep. But unlike some people, I save literally over a 100gig of files every day because of my work. I have 3 1tb hdd's full already. I can't afford to buy a new SSD every day just for work.

i have a working windows 95 boot diskette that came with the OS, it's about 16 years since it was made
windows 98 cd-rom is broked and doesn't boot well

I work as a production intern for Hard2Beat Records. I save like 30-40 FLAC files daily. Plus their consolidated WMA tracks and the MP3 counterparts. As well as the .flp, .aiff, and .SDII files.

I'll easily go through 100gb on a normal day, on a slow day around 75.

We've always uses floppies and I still love them to be honest. I used a floppy disk to transfer files about a quarter of a mile when I lacked internet and I was using my friends computer at his house to download files.

Floppies are the only think I securely trust.
CD's break to easy
Flashdrives like to corrupt
Blue Rays are expensive
External HDD are just like flashdrives.

Floppies are easier to infect if I remember. Also if they get hit by a magnetic field, the data gets forgeted.

Weird... All my disc-based copies of games still work and operate fine.  And they go through stuff care.

I don't know what you guys are doing to your stuff, but hard disk drive storage > all.

Most reliable source of storage imo. If they made like 500gig floppy disks, I'd use that over a CD/External HDD any day.

I have CDs from the 80's with music on them. They are not broken.
