Author Topic: Has anyone here ever hosted for TF2, CS:S, TTT, or any other source game?  (Read 1210 times)

No actually he's right, one of them is supposed to be a missing suffix.

Well anyway back on topic.
What do you have in mind for the site banner?

That's pretty much the least concern right now.

I would love a TTT server.

So yeah, anyone have any tips on hosting?

Should I pay for hosting or should I just build a cheapo dedicated server?

Pay for hosting.

Edit: Also you might be able to use 000webhost for a MOTD.

If you want donations, do not reward donators with things that influence gameplay. Give them cosmetic things. For example, in my TTT & Zombie Survival servers donators receive titles (words above their head). I also reward them with reserved slots. However don't make it kick people out. Make extra invisible slots only usable by donators for when the server is full. For example, my TTT server displays as having 24 slots but it really has 28 in case it gets full and a donator wants to join.

Also, I recommend NFOservers as a host.

Oh and also, never sell administrator priviledges. Ever.

If I correctly remember one of my older friends did a whole TTT on Garry's mod server type deal.
It was very fun.  I contributed as a moderator.

He shut it down due to having a life, and getting a job.

i've seen servers in TF2 let people put unusual effects on thier hats for donating.
