Well if you're playing on a multiplayer server your CPU isn't doing as much work, the server is doing all the CPU intensive physics and such. In singleplayer your computer handles all the stuff. If you're the one running the server then it'll pretty much be as laggy as singleplayer since you're still running it.

I know that, I just thought it was funny. And I think the lag is just from how many add-ons I have since all other games work like clockwork.
