they should never be required and there should never be a game where they are the sole method of iniput

When done right, yeah, it's fun.
When relying on motion controls completely just because it's new and "high-tech" then it kills it.

A perfect example of everything bad about motion controls is Lair.

worst

ever

I prefer just controllers. However, I occasionally like games that use just one form of motion as well as controller buttons. Take Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. The whole thing is played controller style, except you just quickly flick the Wii remote to perform a spin attack.

knect isnt much better. there is a reason only childrens games and exercise/dance games are made for it.

Traditional controllers are best. I don't want a workout when I play videogames, I'm trying to sit back and relax.

I certainly hope the Wii U's tablet-controller is the primary focus. I'm waiting for E3 before I get disappointed by rumors.

i have used netflix on every system at one time. including pc and a bluray player.
the wii is by far the most annoying to use it on

I have a PS3 game that uses the motion controller like a flight stick, you don't need to be standing up and jumping around.

Motion Controls as in Motion Gaming?
HOW DO YOU JUMP.

Motion controls are so imperfected right now that

they should never be required and there should never be a game where they are the sole method of input

until it's handling is better.

As Yahtzee says -

"If Gaming Is going through puberty, motion controls are its first period. It's just something it needs to get out of its system."

Only if it involves me being in a hamsterball-like object so I can actually walk too.

I like them, its fun to try a new thing every once in a while.
