It appears Brimstone was rendered unusable by a bug in the most recent update. Sorry, you're forgeted.
wow

I dunno why you'd think tech 2 is good. Unless he's changed it it slows your tear speed to the lowest it can go, and doesn't change to your current strength.

So it's a constant weak laser that destroys your shooting speed. I get the concept- which is a constant lower damage that could be better than an occasional high damage- but in TBoI, it's all about that high damage hits that take out enemies as quick as possible.

I'm also p sure it kills your damage too.

It lowers your tear speed because it covers your right (?) eye. Just like how Chemical Peel only gives the left side of your face a damage up (every other tear) because that's the part that's burned off. Tech 2 trades half of your tears for a continuously-firing laser and is not known to alter damage.

Clearly a good choice.

tech 2 + bloodlust = awesome

basically tech 2 is the best weapon ever DnaUnstable is tard

It also has amazing synergy with Mulligan (like any other laser weapon), because each of the rapid hits it makes on enemies have a chance to spawn a fly.

Also I was partially incorrect when I said Tech 2 doesn't reduce damage; The damage of one hit from the laser is less than one tear, but because it hits enemies in quick succession, it easily compensates.

I dunno I don't like it. I get the idea of it but I always end up only being able to focus on hitting the monsters with the laser and I just don't kill things as fast as I would like. I've never LOST a playthrough from it but it just ruins the experience for me.

On an unrelated note- I play this game mostly blind and I got the cat paw. I didn't know what it did so I went into a room and used it and saw it didn't go down. Figuring it didn't register the click I did it again. At this point I look up at my health, curl up and cry.

Then I killed Isaac~

Doesn't tech 2 also have intrinsic entry?

Looks like they patched the neutral fly exploit that let you clear a room, destroy a white fly's poop, then leave the room and re-enter for a second item drop

Doesn't tech 2 also have intrinsic entry?

Yep

Quote from: Technology 2 properties
Fires a continuous laser as you shoot tears.

Some special shot effects (e.g. Ouija Board) do not apply to the laser.

Pierces enemies.

Lowers current tear rate.

Stacks with Ipecac if taken before it.

Overwrites Epic Fetus.

Collecting Mom's Knife will cause the beam to still shoot, but will no longer do damage.

As any character, except Cain, tears will still fire from your left eye as before Tech 2 was aqcuired. Cain, not having a left eye, will only fire the laser. If Cain will not shoot ipecac, epic fetus, or dr. fetus.

Bob's Rotten Head will not be thrown when used with this, and the laser stops showing up but still does damage in the standard way. Player gets frozen in the holding-Bob's-head position. (Glitch)

Can be stacked with Brimstone to allow the persistent laser to fire while you charge Brimstone's laser. With this combo, Cain will only fire technology. Note that this works oddly when Technology 2 is acquired first, but it still functions.

Can be stacked with Chocolate Milk to increase its damage.

Overwritten if Mom's Knife is picked up. Laser does no damage.

Can be stacked with Dr. Fetus, a laser will shoot out of your right eye and bombs will replace tears and come out of your left eye. Epic Fetus will also stack but technology 2 will only fire as a burst after your missile has exploded and will stop when another missile is being aimed.

Stacks really well with The Mulligan. Technology 2 hits enemies multiple times for small damage really quickly. Each hit has a chance to spawn a Blue Fly; this can potentially release a large amount of Blue Flies in a short amount if time.

Can be stacked with Technology 1. If stacked with Technology 1 then two lasers will from both items will fire from each eye; however, Technology 1's fire reate is dependent on your tear fire rate.

Removes The Tick if you have it, unknown whether The Tick's effects dissappear from having it removed. (The health restore property at least IS removed)

Can be stacked with Mutant Spider, keeping the 4 shots and the laser.

If combined with Technology, the laser from Technology 2 will pass over obstacles.

With Mom's Contacts, Technology 2 will also freeze the enemies, allowing to nearly keeping them stunned permanently.

Also, when you add Mom's Knife you will have the beam from Technology 2 , but not the damage effect.

Polyphemus seems to maximize the damage if taken with Technology 2 (bug?)

I'm noticing a lot of new TBoI players since the DLC came out, would anyone be interested in watching a video of me playing through the game with a bit of commentary with tips and stuff? Last time I checked my frail computer can handle TBoI and my recording software at the same time, unfortunately I've never done commentary before (minus talking to myself, I'm not crazy!) but I watch plenty of LP-ers (including a TBoI LP-er) so I don't think I'll be terrible at it

what
i just used it fine the other day

Once I got Brimstone after Ipablahblah, and it was totally loving bugged out. It didn't show the charging animation so I just had to guess.

It also took ~forever~ to charge but I'm guessing that's from the lowered tear speed from the ipalala

Poll resetted due to new character.
Finally updated. Sorry for the hiatus!
