Author Topic: Demian's Bitmap Fonts  (Read 2713 times)

I made these bitmaps fonts quite a while ago for Catacomb Snatch but I guess I could post them here too. The smaller fonts are not really meant for longer texts or things like chat, but feel free to try them out. There are plenty of them and I hope you'll find use for some of them.

Please note that the actual font images are white on transparent background. If your browser has white background for images you can't actually see the letters.

Gimme dat .ttf
Doesn't exist because I don't how to make one. That's why they're mostly for smaller details or short texts.

Oh right. Still looks cool though.

have you tried to look for a converter that is free?

lol. licensed.
Because I actually put effort into these and I was required to license them in order for one of the Catacomb Snatch fan builds to be able to use them.

Don't see whats funny, looks like this took him a while. Creative Commons licenses are perfectly acceptable.

I'm actually updating the fonts according to these two charts: http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0000.pdf and http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0080.pdf (Unicode standard 6.1)
So a whole lot more characters and a "proper" layout.

Edit: I had nothing better to do so I made these as well:
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U25A0.pdf
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2500.pdf
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U2580.pdf

DBMF 7x11 sqr has 190 characters including space, excluding control characters and soft hyphen. I have no idea if soft hyphen is supposed to be a control character.
DMBF 7x11 sqr box/block/geo has 256 characters 6 of which are not in standard Unicode. I added them instead of shapes that would have been too messy in such small space.
The set has a total of 446 hand drawn characters.

I was looking for a font like this last week. Found one packaged as a TTF, very similar to the first set you have.

That is probably Visitor. It's pretty much the most popular bitmap font ever. I wish I knew how to make a TTF font from these.

YES

I didn't realize it was so big. But its great for that digital effect.
