Author Topic: Why does the drama section lack an edit button?  (Read 2207 times)

So Badspot would have to deal with those reports all the time then?
I know this may seem insane but Badspot needs some active moderators. things often run out of control.

Often?
What are you talking about?>

i think it would be cool that you could edit your post BUT not delete anything from prior, like edit a segment afterwards so you wouldnt have to post twice.
Do you mean like being able to type but not backspace? That could be worked around by putting [ color=transparent] around text you didn't want, but if you don't mean that then that sounds good.

That would be nice but there is that work around that Lando said but here is what I think we could do.

We go with yours but we make it so the original text is in a box where you can't do a thing to it what-so-ever.

inb4 people falsely blame me

because of kalph lol

he edited his stuff when he was feeling dumb. and now we all get to pay for it

This isn't true, as I just said.

This isn't true, as I just said.
Of all the people who were wiping out their previously made posts in Drama at the time, you were the biggest offender, and there weren't a lot of people who were so hell-bent on keeping a straight image that they edited their previous posts.

True or not, this still doesn't make it my fault.

and now we all get to pay for it
exactly my thing, if someone edits in drama and badspot sees what they first said should get the edit privilege taken away.

we don't all have to pay for it, it would be much better.

exactly.
for some reason, my report button has been taken away too.

He only does that to people who abuse the reporting system. Do you recall reporting someone recently?

exactly.

You've likely abused your reporting ability.

Make sure that if ever you report someone you only ever report them for breaking the forum rules.
If you don't think something is reportable then ask in the topic or don't report.
Don't report lots of times on the same person if he's done bad things in lots of topics in a short amount of time.
If someone goes on a spamming spree, you don't have to report every single instance, just one.
Don't report constantly either.

Make sure you follow the above if ever you get your reporting ability back. Unfortunately, I've never heard of a case where someone has had their power to report removed and then returned before though.

I don't think that there's any point in removing individual peoples ability to modify Drama posts.
It's generally just easier if everyone minds what they say in Drama. If you make typos then that is your fault. You can still correct yourself in a new post. No one really minds.

I'd prefer if people couldn't try to hide what they've said, rather than be able to and be punished for doing so.
The real problem with people modifying is not that they'll get away from being in trouble with Badspot, it's rather that they try to be sly and hide from the community.
