Well, fair enough... I've always referred to it as isometric, even though that isn't necessarily true haha

I generally use the terms "side-view" and "top-down". They're accurate and unambiguous, at least. Afterall, not all side-view games scroll horizontally, or even at all.

It helps if you treat Pixel Art as more a form of 2D sculpting, rather than a form of drawing. Carefully edit and refine your linework before adding details and color. It looks a lot better in the long run.
