Just doing a comparison between his trace and the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 sprite did it for me.
No sane/no joking person can mix brown up with red, I mean REALLY.

people need to expect any type of criticism despite how long they've been doing it
plus he's not exactly a beginner. he's been spriting for a few weeks now and he hasn't improved all that much.
