I would recommend learning the basic of programming here:
http://www.codecademy.com/
Complete the whole "Getting Started with Programming" section.

While this isn't pointed toward TorqueScript (the syntax will be different between the two), rather JavaScript, you can get the basic idea of programming from there. After that, learning TorqueScript should be easier than if you tried learning with no prior programming knowledge.

When I started scripting I sucked at first because all of the tutorials sucked. Xalos should be able to teach you sufficiently. It would probably be easier for him to teach from the ground up, with no different syntaxes to confuse Cheemio.

That's true I guess. I taught myself TorqueScript using Wallet's class notes and Iban's stuff as a reference and it was hard for me to learn. I think with that I may have been better off, why I suggested it.
