Steam group. It'd make it alot easier to organize future matches and such. It's a public group so just go ahead and join. I'll also post news, like Patch Notes, Sales, Free Champions, etc..
I also made everybody able to schedule events, so.

In the case that I run into a true newbie, I generally try to point them in the right direction in terms of building, and helping with strategies. I'm not a prick to them.
But to be honest it's starting to get pretty rare to find true newbies. I mean, it is the most played game in the world after all.

Games get popular because a bunch of people start playing it, aka, there's a lot of new people.
And believe me, there is. You probably just move too high in normal ELO to see any actual new people.
They could also have all chat turned off, as it is by default.
