I used to main nunu mid, trust me, hes perfect how he is.

You're completely right here.
However, I don't think the damage needs to fall off; it's just the way that I've done it makes it that way. Were I to build like Zhonya/Abyssal I think it would work out, but you're right about the cs issue. It's present in part because I don't tax as much as I should and I rarely get to watch or push lanes by myself, and when clearing I often interrupt clears to help lanes.

i'm having this problem too, 'cept not in ranked
it's ridiculous how my bot or mid lane will ALWAYS feed. i can never get a game where they don't.
then i'm just sitting there, top, 4/1
