i jungle as kayle a lot too and its not much of an issue
although if you really wanted blue you shouldve got the last hit with the smite since theres literally no reason not to
Chrono:
Actually there is a reason not to.
Smite it when you start fighting it, so it's on cooldown sooner.

and then smite is up just in time to finish off their red
Alkatjo:
I usually split lanes and ask a support to pick up smite intentionally when I'm in the forest picking up reds. That way I can have at least 2 by...say 3 mins?
(including enemy's)
But that's usually when I have my friend play sona, while I follow with Khaz.

if you last hit blue with smite, and then go the normal blue > wraiths > red route, smite will still be up in time to last hit red. its a lot better to last hit because if you're going against a good counter-jungler they can easily last hit your red and then gank you with it.
