makes sense

i personally never had a problem with kalphiter's service

I've seen servers of his go down sometimes (ask furling, he had problems with this)

and the quality of his servers that im seeing right now is pretty much sub-par. i dont get a particularly outstanding result when i join kalphiters servers, it lags about as much as a regular server - the only upside being that it's 24/7.

i guess.

realistically, it doesn't matter who does it, but who does it better.

it's hard to say anything at this point because we don't know that, haha.

this is probably an issue with your network settings, i got 50ms last time i played

It's more of an issue with server location. Talking in terms of network topology, his server is in a sub-par location for a global audience, utilizing an oversold network. High latency and response time jitter are prevalent.

Kalphiter:

What would I ever do if I didn't have the power to explain how wrong you guys are?

Lub is literally making up stuff.

Average world wide ping to my server in the last 7 days: 57ms.

The comparison is malformed.
First of all, 130ms is still negligible. The only problem left is that "average world wide" ping is undefinable, or at least doesn't really make sense. If anything, the "average ww ping" would be constant for every server around the world.

An oversold network? You have to be loving kidding me. I get a solid 39ms ping to my server. The distance (measured by several cities, Edison, NJ -> Hackensack, NJ -> Bethpage, NY -> JFK -> Chicago -> St Louis) is 1,076 miles. That is NOT high latency. That is extremely good latency.

Saying this is usually from a misunderstanding of both how flawed the game engine is and what isn't my fault. I had just talked to Furling and discovered that it was an add-on problem.

Yeah, you don't understand how it works. Your stuffty internet is not my issue.
