No. The swastika is a tilted version of that symbol

I think

No.

Yeah, I have to agree with Mulch. Either your cousin is completely uneducated about the national socialists and what they did, or he is one himself and just uses that as an excuse to keep it.Its been used in a lot of cultures, including India and Egypt. It orginally mean life power and strength or something. Then the national socialists used it and reversed it and rotated it a bit.

Correct. The swastika has been used as early as 3000 BC. In almost every culture from Egypt to China.

No it's not.

Again no, please look this up.

Well, it was used by Buddhist monks in India (i think) as a sign for peace. I'm a bit shady on that, I could be wrong. I don't think it was an official symbol or anything though.

I'm sorry I'm not as swastika smart as you?

Many Native American tribes used the swastika. The Navajo used it as a symbol of good fortune/good luck. My dad is a history professor, I've also checked my sources.

K. So what about all the other cultures that used it for a different purpose?

Can we stop talking about symbols and flags and get back to avatars?

Avatar: an embodiment or personification, as of a principle, attitude, or view of life.

I'd say that that is a sort of symbol. So talking about symbols is perfectly in order here.

I wasn't talking about that, I'm not sure of any other orgins, but I know it was used in Asian culture.

What Mulch was referring to was it being a misconception that its a symbol of peace for Buddhism, it most certainly has been used in a whole bunch of different cultures. I don't think its was or is a "official" symbol for Buddhism, but it was defiantly used by Buddhist monks.

It pretty much has a universal meaning, good luck and a fine road ahead of you and all that. I don't know what the meaning behind it for the national socialists were though.

People with stuffty untrans'ed avatars piss me off. (only when they need transparency that is.)

Well being we are arguing over symbols here lemme say this.

Rebel Flags in my culture. Case closed on that one. (I'll change my avatar soon)

I don't know what the meaning behind it for the national socialists were though.
The perfection of an Aryan race, I'd assume.

I just realized something

Is my avatar centered? It looks... Off

Well I obviously have the best avatar on the forums, so...

Your avatar shouldn't be centered under your name (which is what I'm assuming you mean.)
It's left justified.

are you idiots really arguing over a flag marked of history.

sure it's a big mark in history but seriously, it's not a big deal, people have their beliefs, maybe alyx is tribal, that's not our buisness.

if there if a homoloveual on this forum, people leave him be to his self.

if there is a redneck someone has to pick on him.
