that's only half of the op, you see
the other half is him going into a hissyfit of how he's already written books before and how he's criticism-immune because he's young and inexperienced
which then begins another branch where scratch enters and defends comedy (very poorly, I might add) to which comedy retreats and hides as always, tossing in hollow insults and grand "thank yous" to his supporters
