Author Topic: Engine Rendering alteration request: one way occlusion bricks  (Read 1620 times)

one way occlusion bricks:
basically renders the skybox from one side and is invisible on the other.

I don't think it can be done through script alone and probably requires an engine alteration

Nope, would still show sky.

Teleport into a box of bricks.

I was thinking of something like this.
The white outline is there so it is easier to see the one-sided occluding "brick"

use the prop screen and set the screen to invisi, you can see players and skybox :P

there are two cubes, it is not a mirror.

ehh, props would be too small

There is currently no way to do this as far as I know

unless you use the transparent bricks glitch I think...

Isn't that the point of suggestions and requests?

I'm talking about in terms of brick modification

Even though this already exists. Just use the one-way window.

he wants it so on one side, you absolutly can't see any of the brick; the sides too, not just one face

That is really weird. Why does the frame make any difference.

Like some said, maybe the way to do this is to find out what causes the transparent glitch, maybe we can use it to do this.

I think this has to be an engine modification.  One reason I wanted it was it would allow cloaking devices and such.
This could be done with shaders i believe when/if they come out and can be made as addons.

The animation is basically the simulation of the simulation that is Blockland.  made in Blender.

And again, the frame is there just so you can tell where the "brick" is.
Although it would be cool if it was transparent rather than invisible on the side you can see through
