--- Quote from: Grodus on May 28, 2012, 10:21:02 PM ---First off - you aren't "everyone". You are entitled to an opinion. Second off - I don't like it either, but it's worth just joining one loving server in a hamachi network to play minecraft then going through the painfull process of portforwarding with my landlady's router. And yes, I use her internet so that's why it would be loving hell to set up. --- End quote --- have someone else host it? hamachi is a bitch to setup and it's exploitable |
| Trifax:
Aaaaand I will NOT be joining. I doubt anyone else would be either. inb4lock? |
| Mysteroo:
some people might join, but not very many with Hamachi, ecspecially if we can't join by just reading this and logging on directly. I doubt anybody wants to install hamachi, put in a name and password, and then ask someone for the IP, and then go on the server. |
| Fracture:
Hamachi is ew. If you cant host a proper server, dont host at all? |
| Chrono:
What is Hamachi? Hamachi is a program intended for incredibly computer-incapable users who want the easiest solution to host servers that would normally require powerful machines on their home computer. This is in no way efficient at all in terms of network nor power. Should I join a Hamachi server? No. Your experience in the server will probably be poor. There will be many problems and the server will most likely be down a lot. This server is not run by someone who wants to be a frequent host, nor can they afford to do so. Their lack in knowledge in something as easy as port forwarding likely shows that the server will usually lack a proper setup as well. Edit: So why was Hamachi a good idea in the developers' view? Hamachi was intended for making LAN games playable through WAN. That is all. It was never intended to be an alternative to hosting servers. |
