according to this, you could probably create a makeshift stand out of cardboard/other materials if you really wanted one.
though I would agree that they should include one anyway. not including one because people might "think it was a Wii" is stupid, most probably already do because it has the same damn name.
personally, it wouldn't bother me.

It has to render the screen twice for 3d mode though.
