Oh, and you also set up a comm station, autoturret, and security camera.

The comm stations allows you to send messages (CS > reciever), relay messages (helmet > CS > reciever), and listen to other broadcasters (turn the first knob for local channels, second for other squads, space marines or other military soldiers near or on Skylands).

The autoturret is a gun on legs that has been programmed to shoot anybody wearing a Viper or Pepperboxer uniform, leaving civilians and squadmembers intact while dishing out pain to those among the aformentioned gangs.

The security camera is a precaution in the event the autoturret is broken. It sends a video feed to a hard drive built into the commander's (aka your) suit, and even if the camera is damaged you can still review the footage taken prior to it's destruction.

My Blockhead sprites are already sideways (ish); the feet and head are always pointed towards the direction they're looking at like the Endeavour sprites.
